This is fantastic news for a team and organization rebuilding and trying to recapture its glory from the '80s.

This is fantastic news if we get the Gibbs that coached last night and not the Gibbs that called two timeouts back to back.

BMT, if you're going to continue to refer to the timeouts called than you're missing the point. Gibbs has an opportunity better than anyone else to rebuild the structure and organization from within more than anyone else. He can still coach as he's proven. Was it a mistake - sure - time to move on here. Bottom line he's the coach you want for who he is in the now or not.

I don't think there's anyone else who has the clout to back the owner off, hopefully replace Vinny someday with a GM, and knows how to bring in the right coach to replace him. All this while setting up shop internally back to where it was in the '80s which was dismantled and devastated by changes in ownership, management, and coaching.

Can you name a coach since he first left that brought the team close to the playoffs year in and year out or actually being able to be watchable much like Clooney's "drinkable" for beer in his commercial? The team has been hit hard by injury and tragedy and still is in the playoff hunt now controlling its own destiny.

Not missing the point. I'm simply referring to the fact that if Timeout Gibbs is what we get, we might as well move on. No point in extending his contract if we can't move towards a Superbowl.

I am quite aware he is the only person who could push Snyder back, but if his coaching acumen is gone, there's little reason to be hopeful.

Don't read too much into my comment. I'm simply stating it won't be worth it. As my post had stated previously, I don't think Gibbs should go.

Well BMT, I guess one mistake outweighs any good that could come from Gibbs and the Skins should always be looking to replace the next coach b/c you don't know what you're going to get and if you're fickle enough to take a proven HOF coach that's taken different QB's and players to Super Bowls over a decade and kick him to the curb than no one will ever satisfy you.

It seems like Shula coached a great many number of year continueously and Super Bowls didn't come often and easy. Dean Smith was a winner every year, but titles were few and far between.

Gibbs is a winner and don't forget it! There's a winner in town again despite tragedy and injury and how can you discount coaching when they're still winning.

Above all else YOUR TIMEOUT GIBBS WON a game with a timeout - Too Many Men on the Field! Where's the credit to coaching? This is a moot point.
