In stunning fashion the Terps dominated most of the game and the battle on the boards in Chapel Hill. It came down to the final minutes after the Terps went up by eleven points and won 82-80. Maryland seemed to take it to the Tar Heels for the better part of the game until a ten minute stretch where UNC made a few runs to eventually take a small lead.
In a thriller that could turn the Terps season around after early losses to Ohio and American University, the Terps find themselves at 2-2 in conference play. There is a small sad point to note about the game. Due to the ACC's expansion to twelve teams for football the basketball schedule is unbalanced. The Terps don't have a return game at home vs. UNC.
Big Money Tony and I were at the ESPN Zone on Friday catching up and the Len Bias 1986 MD vs. UNC game was on TV. Maybe it was a sign of another great win vs. UNC. It's always fun to beat Duke & UNC as evident by the pregame coverage of the Duke and Clemson game when both teams and fans were shown rejoicing upon hearing the news that UNC had lost.

As rabid Terrapin fans should know, it's nice to beat the Bad, but let's get the Ugly as well and the season will be justified no matter what happens.
