Do they still play baseball in Pittsburgh?

In my recent Major League Baseball preview of the National League Central division, my only comment regarding the Pittsburgh Pirates was the following:

"Do they still play baseball in Pittsburgh?"

It recently came to my attention that apparently someone is actually reading my posts on this blog and even noted my comments about the Pirates at MaximumGrilledPirates.com.

I realize that this blog is the DC Sports Page and that I never thought I would be spending this much time talking about the Pittsburgh Pirates, but some of the comments regarding my “slam” of the Pirates are just too good to pass up.

Ma13tt0 responded: "When we get to 75 wins we'll show him."

That’s funny stuff. I am not kidding when I say I was laughing out loud after reading that.

blurjose says: "It's not particularly clever and it's an easy way out of having to actually write something."

It’s true! I never intended to write a comprehensive analysis of all 30 major league teams so there ended up being some teams I just didn’t have much to say about. So I tried to come up with something clever to say about the Pirates but I guess I wasn’t clever enough and apparently some people were able to see right through my attempt.

buccosmfg commented: "This looks like it was written by the same dip@#$% who penned the Dusty Baker article that found its way onto FJM."

Nope. Wasn’t me. I can’t take credit for that one.

Defdog noted that: "His Nationals summary is about as short: As for the Nats, all I can say is to enjoy your new stadium."

Yes, I "slammed" the Nats as well. Hey, I have to pick someone to finish in last place in each division, even if it is the hometown team. Is it too late to change my predictions for the AL Central? Can I pick the Tigers to finish last?

That is hilarious! I'm not sure which is funnier though...them commenting on your post, or them actually reading this site. Other than your predictions, I don't think the Pirates have been mentioned before.

Bob,

LMAO!

This means the commenter that discussed the Nats went back and read all your other artcles too.

You're quite the celebrity, now.
