Mock Draft: Dallas Cowboys

| No TrackBacks

To continue with our mock draft, the Dallas Cowboys are now on the clock with the 22nd pick.

Dallas needs help at corner, wide receiver, and running back. Cornerback could be addressed with the Adam "Pacman" Jones trade Jerry Jones seems to be pushing hard for. However, it appears this is taking as long as the Erik Bedard Orioles to Mariners trade in Major League Baseball. Or more appropriate, the Orioles Brian Roberts, since he has yet to be traded.

At wide receiver, the question is what will happen first? Terrell Owens is no longer a dominate receiver, or will he mouth off at the team. The safe bet that either will happen in the next couple of years.

Running back...the machine that is Marion Barber will have to go it alone this year as Julius Jones has left for Seattle. Dallas needs to find a back that can compliment Barber, and possibly take a back seat.

Brandon Flowers, CB, Virginia Tech

As a Redskins fan, I would love nothing more than to see Jerry Jones overpay for "Pacman" Jones. I even hear rumors that the Cowboys have upped their offer to Tennessee. But the more days pass on this, the less I see it happening. Jones also has to take into factor that Pacman has stated he would not apply for reinstatement into the NFL until a trade has been made. Current NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, has put down his fist, in a "shoot first, ask questions later" mentality when it comes to off-field player antics. Who knows exactly when Pacman will rejoin the NFL?

Flowers is a solid player. Maybe a bit small, but plays smart. He should fit in with the Cowboys, even if the Pacman trade goes through.
