Mock Draft: Arizona Cardinals

To continue our own mock draft, rotating the picks among the bloggers the Arizona Cardinals are on the clock now with the 16th Pick in the draft.

The Cardinals have some major areas of concern. Most NFL experts didn't know how much James had left in the tank when he signed a contract in Arizona and now he's even getting up there in age. His legs have seen many miles for his overall age. Finding someone to replace him would be ideal, but considering that the top Rb’s are already off the board and anything at this point would fill a need and be a stretch so Arizona must look elsewhere. A RB will have to be found in a later round.

The Cardinals could also use some help at DE and CB, especially with Rolle moving to safety. Merling would be a welcomed asset along the line, but to pick up one of the highest rated players at his position is just too difficult to refuse.

Pick #16: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB Tenn. State

Arizona has to be happy that although they didn't come away with a Mendenhall that they have a shut down cover corner with exceptional speed. His one on one skills are excellent and will fit in well with the Cardinals system unlike the Redskins pick a few years ago of Carlos Rogers who excels at zone coverage when the Redskins play a single coverage defense. Redskins fans know how this has turned out.

The Vikings are now on the clock with the 17th Pick in the Draft.
