Mock Draft: Denver Broncos
To continue our own mock draft, rotating the picks among the bloggers the Denver Broncos are on the clock now with the 12th Pick in the draft.
There are some obvious holes that could be filled with the 12th pick in the draft. With needs at WR, OL, & DL, getting the best value for this pick is critical. Derrick Harvey from Florida could provide an immediate impact along the defensive line providing solid pass rush pressure. He possesses the ability to play the run strong too. Harvey would complement the strong defensive back core with Bly and Bailey.
Finding a good wide receiver opposite Brandon Marshall (and his food wrapper incident) would be a like hitting the jackpot in Vegas. There isn't a Calvin Johnson in this year's class. Most receivers won't provide an impact until year two and have a breakout year in year three. That being said the Broncos may find themselves looking for receiver help with their next pick and opt to take Jeff Otah the OT from Pittsburgh. Otah would step in and help an aging offensive line and help protect Cutler and the passing game while continuing the long tradition of the Broncos power zone run blocking scheme. It's not the most exciting pick, but it pays dividends this year and lays the foundation to winning the battle in the trenches for years to come.
Pick #12: Jeff Otah, OT Pittsburgh
The Panthers are now on the clock with the 13th pick in the draft.
