Bill Simmons Does It Again!

Can anyone bring a smile to your face and such laughter from an article or radio show? Big Money Tony gave me a lift home from work last week. As we were talking Bill Simmons podcast from last Thursday was playing in the background. My keen sense and "Heroes" like ability to hear something funny within my surrounding area sounded off.

Bill Simmons was talking with a friend and discussing an interview that occurred in baseball with two Dodger's players. One of the players was Manny translating for the player being interviewed. After the player spoke in two languages off and on, the two Dodgers laughed and ran off. Simmon's commented how funny it is that the interviewer was fooled by two of the dumber players in baseball. How often do you do you hear a comment like that?

By this time Big Money Tony and I were solely focused on Simmons. He had since switched to another topic and with the debates quickly approaching a more timely political focus portion of the show.

Simmon's asked his friend what he ranked the #1 political event in US History? He threw out different categories, before cutting him off and saying he believed the assassination of Lincoln to be number one. Bill Simmons AKA "The Sports Guy" continued to explain why Booth shooting Lincoln, jumping off the balcony in Ford's Theatre, and running out of the theatre made it number one. He seemed so shocked that it took twelve days to finally capture Booth. Simmon's friend mocked him for sounding so surprised like he was there. Simmon's could only retort with - well it wasn't like he had a getaway car. Booth ran out and hid in the woods for days, why did it take so long. It's worth listening to the entire conversation Bill Simmons.

Simmons then commented on Clinton's scandal and his dissapointment when it was revealed that Monica Lewinsky was the mystery women and not someone like the actress from the AMC show "Mad Men". When you stop and revisit this moment in history, Simmons comments and humor hit the mark.
