Cowboys Make Move for Williams

The Cowboys made a move to ensure their playoff hopes aren't washed away due to injuries in a year where most had already crowned them NFC Champions on paper to start the season. With Romo out possibly four weeks due to a broken pinkie finger, Pac Man Jones four game suspension, and with Newman and Felix Jones also being out four weeks Jerry Jones gave up a 1st, 3rd, and 6th Round Pick for Roy Williams and the Lions 7th Round Pick.

The move came at a very high price for a receiver that never seemed to live up to the number one receiver slot in Detroit. Calvin Johnson made this an easier move for the Lions, but will they know how to use the picks? The move should help Brad Johnson do what he does best in Dallas - manage the game. In three receivers like TO, Williams, and Clayton the vertical game when Romo returns should be very explosive. Can they continue to win until Romo comes back is the question. Just as the Skins were tested with two tough division games on the road, Dallas will face their first obstacle to the playoffs.

The tight NFC East and the resurgent Carolina Panthers mean a tight race for the playoffs could be in store if some losses in the schedule due to injury occur. It's quite possible that what was perceived to be a possibility of three teams making the playoffs from the NFC East could be in jeopardy should a team falter due to injury.
