Redskins Face Rams Today

The Redskins face a greater challenge at 1 PM today from the St. Louis Rams then their record (0-4) indicates. With new head coach Haslett looking to throw new wrinkles on offense and low expectations overall, make the Rams a tough team with renewed spirits and a high level of intensity.

Q believes Jason Campbell and the offense need to continue their string of zero turnovers and not provide the Rams offense any additional opportunities to get jump started.

As long as the Redskins can keep the level of consistency and composure they've show over the past four weeks, Big Money Tony thinks the Skins should be 5-1 after today.

As long as Zorn understands that a balanced attack will lead to a better passing game, it should become obvious that Jansen should remain the starter this season. It's been the rejuvenated running game and Clinton Portis that's had defenses on their heels late in games and created such a good mix (of run/pass) that receivers are breaking free on the field.

Establishing the running game early will open up the passing game against one of the weaker defenses in the league. The game could come down to defense. The defensive line will focus on slowing down Jackson and force the Rams into a one dimensional offense. Taylor will be back on the line this week. It will be another week for the D-Line to answer questions regarding pressuring the quarterback. So far no one has stood out as the defense has relied on the back seven despite several key injuries over the past several weeks.

Today's game will be the first in a series of three consecutive games that will tell a story about the focus on the team to beat the teams they should walk away with a win against and not show any loss of energy or let down. The expectations have now been raised and now face three of the weakest teams on the schedule - Rams, Browns, & Lions and should be 7-1 if they play consistently as BMT mentioned.
