The Redskins pounded the Browns with a steady dose of Portis as he accumulated his highest single game total this season 175 yards rushing. With teams clamping down on Moss, it's become increasingly difficult to find the open receiver during the game. The Skins offense has proven that it can dominate and wear down defenses but has left the play action and more of the intermediate/deep pass routes at home.
After Randel-El, there doesn't appear to be any type of threat in the passing game from the third receiver. Opposing teams have adapted to the Redskins passing game and have taken notice of Moss and Randel-El forcing the Skins to find another threat. The inability to attack the secondary enough to create more of a cushion on the scoreboard has already helped cost the Skins one victory.
The strong running game and time of possession has allowed the Skins to keep the defense off the field and stay fresh, but it's allowing weaker teams to hang around in games and have a chance to win at the end of games. For a team having trouble sacking the quarterback in critical times, the Skins will face a crossroads after the upcoming Lions game as the schedule becomes more challenging again. The team must either find another receiving threat to move the chains and score more points or improve the pass rush and force more turnovers to avoid potentially dangerous situations late in games.

The defense deserves some "Hip Hip Hooray!" for their efforts today. For the last 8 minutes of the game, they were basically on the field. 7 goal line plays stopped, until they finally let the Browns score. What an effort!
