2009 NFL Mock Draft: Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are on the clock with the 18th Pick in the draft.

The Bears Defense hasn't lived up to its usual form the past couple of years since Rivera left as coordinator. There isn't an impact player available to improve the defense significantly and since the Bears seem committed to Orton at quarterback there's two positions the Bears may consider with the pick.

OT Tait retired and the addition of Schaffer at tackle in free agency from the Browns makes it less likely for the Bears to draft Eben Britton at OT.

18th Pick: Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR Maryland

Heyward-Bey provided the big play ability at Maryland. His speed down the field on film and at the combines impressed many scouts. Pushing the ball down field with Heyward-Bey and Hester should take some pressure off of Orton and the running game in an offense that lacks production.

Tampa Bay is now on the clock with the 19th Pick in the draft.
